One of the winners from the 2020 Harry B. Mathews, Jr Scholarships was the son of a Schafer Driveline employee. Nathan Whitney, son of Tim and Rebekah Whitney, was chosen for one of the four-year scholarships. Tim Whitney has been with Schafer Driveline for two years and works in the Engineering department as a Manufacturing Engineer.
Nathan is a graduate from East Knox High School, where he was involved in Cross Country, Track and Field, Basketball, National Honor Society, and 4-H. Nathan is now attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He has recently completed his first year at MVNU and is majoring in Engineering. He plans to have a career in Engineering in the future. In his free time, he is an active member of his church, and he enjoys kayaking, sports and cars.
This scholarship is a huge accomplishment for Nathan, and Schafer Industries commends him on this achievement.
